Episode LVIII: The Podcast Identity

Its The Deucecast Episode 58, The Podcast Identity!  Mikey and d$ are back for more supremacy in the podcast world, and joining us is the return of Mikey's (not)twin sista' Stephanie... joining us for more fun, making the trip from her home state of Missouri just to be here to see the show!  Later on in the show, we get to trailers for "Django Unchained " and "Wreck-It Ralph "... Charlie Sheen's new 'tude... Green Lantern's new choices... John Mayer's new humiliation... and Miley Cyrus' new ring.

We kick it off with an unidentified cola-type drink, called "Cola", and then we dive into discussions about Magic City Brewfest... Steel City Pops... searching for the perfect IMAX... baby talk... and former co-host Matty visiting overseas...

Mikey's Music takes on The Lumineers , while d$ brings home another American Buried Treasure, M.C. Gainey, in Part Three of the Buried Treasure Americana Series... then Mikey tries to reclaim his dignity in Round Two of "Battle of the Sexes" with his sista'...

We get happy with The Big Three this week too, with the songs that make us smile the most... and its an expounded, expanded, larger-than-life list with Tupac ... The Goo Goo Dolls ... Sheryl Crow ... The Avett Brothers... and last but certainly not least Kenny Loggins ...

Next week... we get The Good Doctor Earl in studio and discuss The Big Three Favorite Movie Opening Scenes... and a round of The Ryan Phillipe Game... more Mikey Music Crap... and d$ discovers his powers.  His Powers Booth, that is.  That's on The Deucecast Episode 59: The Podcast Supremacy

Episode LVII: Indiana Dave and the Podcast of the Crystal Skull

Sometimes, when Mike and d$ have Hurricane Rhett in the studio, Mike and d$ sit back and ask themselves "What could be better than having one Barnett on the show?"  That question was answered for us on The Deucecast Episode LVII:  Indiana Dave and the Podcast of the Crystal Skull... the answer to that age-old query of "What is better than one Barnett" is quite simply... "Two Barnetts".

That's right, Hurricane Rhett and his boo Amarylis join us in studio to crack wise, get funny with the ha ha and add to what is already an exceptional hour and change in podcast excellence.

Its the 1980s Borat!  What a country!!!
The group kicks off the show with discussions on losing power... taking the kids to Atlanta... the new Earth Fare healthy supermarket... the alternatives to Scotty's space burial... visiting Branson, Missouri... and the crime of missing Yakov Smirnoff...

Other topics discuss more Star Wars... a Twitter slap from Charlie to Jack... a viewing of Tower Heist... the box office prowess of The Avengers... and the return of one of Mikey's favorite kiddy cartoons.

Mikey brings the crappy music once again with more Alabama Shakes... and d$ continues his Buried Treasure series with Part II of the Forgotten American Treasures with a huge group from the 80s that is largely missing from America's current culture.

Rhett's Rants blows through the studio like a Hurricane, and once again, no one is disappointed... topics this time include gated communities... cute animals on Facebook... grown men and their ponytails... inspirational captions on Facebook... and pretty much any stay-at-home mom with too much time on their hands when it comes to Facebook postings all day long.

The Big Three jumps in on more misery with the worst acting performances we've ever seen, including stellar bad turns from the likes of Kevin Costner... Tom Hanks... Vince Vaughn... and even the likes of legends like Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman... oh, and somebody doing a horrible Michael Jackson impersonation.  Too soon?

Don't forget to join us next week when Steph Rector makes her return appearance, with our Big Three being Favorite Happy Songs.  Plus, another edition of Forgotten American Treasures from d$, more crap from Mikey... and more fun in The Deucecast Episode LVIII: The Podcast Identity

Episode LVI: Indiana Tommy & the Podcast Crusade

Once again, its time.  Its time for music.  Its time for music.  Its time for Drew.  Its time... for... The Deucecast Episode LVI:  Indiana Mikey and the Podcast Crusade!

Right off the bat, we drink a little... thats drinking some Vitamin Fizz, by the way, which is better than you might think.  Jumping into the week, Mikey discusses his zoo adventures, Drew talks about his crazy weekend travels and d$ has more sleepy trouble with caring for an infant.  We also riff on The B in Apt 23... Veep... the upcoming Hatfield & McCoys... James Doohan in Space... GI Joe's release date... and does Superman II hold up anymore?

Wil Wheaton becomes a topic of discussion, somehow... as does the trouble with Seal's lyrics... Cub Scouts, Webelos and Eagle Scouts... the trouble with Facebook and its possible legacy (AOL, anyone?)... and in a Nerd Alert, we answer the question, which is a higher ranking:  A Star Trek Ensign, or a Star Trek Junior Grade?

Its a very music heavy episode, as Mikey's Music Crap takes on The Shins and John Mayer...  d$ begins his five part Americana Series for The Buried Treasure with an acting legend... and our Big Three Favorite Soundracks include music from Pulp Fiction... You've Got Mail... Phenomenon... and The Crow.  And in a "how did we get here", we go from Nelson to Nilsson to a Bible Study highjacking of "Peaceful Easy Feeling" by The Eagles.

Mikey also does the unthinkable, and craps all over John Williams and his music.  Because the themes to Jaws, Indiana Jones, Star Wars and Forrest Gump sound exactly alike.  Right?  Right.

And next week, we welcome in Hurricane Rhett as we discuss The Big Three Worst Acting Performance Ever... Mikey has more crappy music... and Part II of The Buried Treasure Americana Series... thats all on The Deucecast Episode LVII:  Indiana Dave & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull!

Episode LV: Indiana Mike & the Podcast of Doom

It's another fantastic show... and this time, we're taking it back to the old school, cause we're old fools who are so cool... Mikey and Dave, sans Third Host, take on The Deucecast Ep LV: Indiana Mike & the Podcast of Doom.

We kick off the show with Mikey's dental woes... his day at the park... his moronic dog and her water issues... and ballpark shenanigans... d$ has his own sleeplessness issues, with a 5 1/2 month old... and how do you get a baby to sleep in the crib?

Also on the show, discussions about George Lucas' thumbing his nose at the neighbors... the TV Upfronts... new shows like "Revolution" and "Last Resort"... a little ditty called "Hughes the Force"... the curse of John Connor takes on Nick Stahl... A combined Demi Lovato/Britney Spears watch... the passing of Donna Summer... Kutcher gets Punk'd again... movies like "Colombiana"... "The Conspirator"... and the brilliance of "American History X", plus the strangeness of director Wim Wenders...

A great Buried Treasure unearths the legendary American Icon John Schneider and his wonderful music, with such great tunes as "Country Girls" and "What's a Memory Like You (doing in a love like this)"... Drewski takes on a great topic in The Smorg, with a discussion on expecations in movies and how it affects your liking or disliking of a particular movie, everything from Zombieland to Passion of the Christ to a big The Avengers vs The Dark Knight discussion.

The Big Three takes on our favorite movie experiences, covering such masterpieces as Back to the Future Part 3 to a Corey Haim classic to several Star Wars films.... and... Double O Kid.

More movies deeply discussed were The Doors and the new Star Trek film (Khaaaaaaan!) and Britney Spears' Crossroads and American Wedding...

And stick around after the ending music for a Spoiler Filled discussion on The Avengers and all its wonderful qualities.
