It's confession time... Mikey, Pinky and Dave have things to get off their chest, secrets (or not so secrets) that they have been hiding down deep... but confession is good for the soul. It's time to talk about these things out loud so the healing can begin.
And what better way to bare the soul than to do it with friends... Terrance Malick apologist, Witt Stillman fan and movie historian Dr Earl comes into talk about what is weighing on him, and Friend of the Show and Miss Independent Jeremy Burgess joins the group as well to discuss his movie confessions.
The state of Pixar! Hating on The Rock! Hating on The Snape! Hating on Costner! Loving on The Cage! Becoming a Bronie! Hallmark lovin! And so much more...
Movies... actors... actresses... genres... tropes... these are the things that only a few people love... or things that everyone loves that only a few hate... or that everyone knows about that hasn't been experienced...
These are our confessions.
Also, our first Cepheus reference, as well as Ginuine's "Pony"...

Episode 242: Sidewalk Fest & Fall Preview
Fall is here and with it, the Birmingham area Sidewalk Film Festival comes to town with all sort of new independent films for us to discuss. We also cover our most anticipated fall movies that are hitting the cinemas. Mikey, Dave and Pinky welcome in Terrence Malick Apologist and Film Historian Dr Earl as well as the millennial indie film nerd, Jeremy Burgess.
First up, the birthday movies show that before 2011, September was not a great month for films with the likes of Glitter, Bulletproof and Megiddo: The Omega Code 2 hitting theaters (though 50/50, Moneyball and The Descendants brought it.
A rousing game of Western Rotten Tomatoes (Quigley Down Under has what rating??) takes place with a thrilling finish, and then onto Sidewalk...
Pinky & Burgess give their take on the best films (and maybe worst) to come out of the local movie festival, including a return of "Raiders", a beloved film called "Little Sister", a fowl film called "Chicken People", and a crazy doc called "Kate becomes Christine"
Then the fall preview, giving the Top Five Most Anticipated, with upcoming films with Emily Blunt... Ben Affleck's autistic turn... interracial love... Amy Adams (whom Dave is dating) doing a double turn in two movies with lots of potential... a random discussion on racism with Birth of a Nation... being hesitant on Doctor Strange... and the great cast of The Magnificent Seven.
Plus a rundown of other films coming out.
And America's favorite segment where Pinky watches classic films, Pretty in Pink, returns with a take on Road House.

Episode 241: The Mt Rushmore of Directors
After the actors and actresses that have been placed on each personal Mt Rushmore as All Time Favorites (see Episode 219 for Actors and Episode 227 for Actresses), its only fitting that Directors get their due. And of course, what better way to do it than to bring in Terrance Malick Apologist and Film Historian the Honorable Former Deacon Dr Earl.
Up first, a fast paced edition of Denzel, with someone forgetting the names of the Hobbit movies, someone else forgetting the arthouse award winning film Alicia Vikander was in, and what exactly was the name of the guy who played Freddy Kruger??
Then over to picking the all time best directors ever, based on love of movies, love of directing style, based on the films in the host's favorite movies and Top 100 films of all time... you'll hear various stories of why certain films are liked and disliked, and who barely made the cut.
Names like Spielberg! Russell! Tarantino! Altman! Whit Stillman... wait, who? And where does Dr Earl place Malick upon Rushmore... or does he place him at all....??
Plus, a close look at the career of director Andy Tennant, director of "It Takes Two" with Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen.
