Episode 343: The Tom Hanks Top 32 (ft Ryfun & Shaver)

It's another excursion into movie mediocrity as Dave, Mikey, and Pinky tackle a movie role tourney with one of the greatest actors of any and all generations Tom Hanks.

As the Greatest Movie Role of All Time Ever Tournament rolls on its time for a big one in Tom Hanks. The Deucecast Movie Show looks to put another character into the Big Bracket, to join names like Anna Scott and Jerry Maguire and Castor Troy and more... and to do this, the guys need to bring in more help.  Enter Friend of the Show, calling on the Binder & Binder hotline, all the way from Bainscross, Georgia, its Scott Ryfun.

We tackle Tom Hanks roles, like Jimmy Dugan ("League of Their Own") and Josh ("Big") and Mr White ("That Thing You Do") and Sully, Larry Crowne, and Captain Phillips (from "Sully", "Larry Crowne", and "Captain Phillips" respectively.

And to break the ties, a reach out to Friend of the Show Clay Shaver, who finally dials in to give his two cents on the tiebreakers and the finals.  And who knew everyone had so much love for "Bachelor Party"!?

Episode 336: The Arnold Sweet 16 (Ft Shaz!)

The biggest movie role tournament in the history of podcasts (disclaimer, that meaning podcasts that are recorded in Meadowbrook, AL) rolls on, as Mikey, Dave and #Twitterless Dr Earl tackle another handful of great movie roles from a legendary Hollywood actor.
This time, Arnold Schwarzaneggar gets his day in the sun, matching up iconic characters like The Terminator, Quaid from Total Recall, John Matrix from Commando, Det Kimble from Kindergarten Cop and much more.

But to truly make this a well informed episode, the guys had to call in an 80s movie expert.

On the Binder & Binder Law Firm hotline, TechnoRetro Dad's own Shazbazzer joins the group to discuss their favorites, which is better, which is worse, a love of Conan the Barbarian, what Mad Magazine called Conan, a true love of True Lies, the underrated Running Man and much, much more.

One character is crowned the winner and moves onto the Big Bracket!

Episode 325: The Tom Cruise Sweet 16 (aka Shirtless Volleyball with Ryfuns)

The Deucecast Movie Show jumps back into the bracket format again, this time with Tom Cruise movies!  Mikey and Dave invite in Twitterless Dr Earl, and get Waycross Bainswick Georgia's own Scott Ryfun. And the bonus Ryfun, Garrison, also joins in.

The guys match up Tom Cruise roles one by one, until there is only one remaining, with lots of discussions on Mission Impossible movies without the numbers... the Mimi Rogers years... Garrison saying "I haven't seen that" an awful lot... The Ron Kovic dilemma... and lots and lots of shirtless, sweaty volleyball.

And an Emilio Estevez sighting!

Episode 318: The Denzel Sweet 16

The Greatest Role Ever preliminary tournament rolls on, this time featuring Denzel Washington.  And what better way to do a Sweet 16 than to bring on Michigan's Finest, host of the Remodeling Clay Podcast Clay Shaver!

The show kicks off with a great round of, what else, The Denzel Game, and joining the crew a few minutes in, Friend of the Show, Wit Stillman Fan, Lover of Brie (Allison, Larsen & the cheese), Terrance Malick Apologist, Film Historian and Remover of Eyeworms, The Estimable Twitterless Dr. Earl.

Then, onto the tournament, where the greatest Denzel Movie Roles are matched up against each other, as they are whittled down until the best Denzel Cinematic Performance remains.

A play in game sees Denzel in Courage Under Fire taking on Denzel in A Soldier's Story, for that chance to take on Denzel in

Then, its Playa to Playa, Pimp to Pimp as you'll hear about Denzel in Philadelphia, Denzel in Glory, Denzel in The Hurricane, Denzel in He Got Game... and much, much more.

Plus, Remodeling Clay makes more terrible decisions in who he leaves out of the bracket.

Episode 310: The Julia Roberts Sweet Sixteen (Kaufman Returns!!)

The third part of the ongoing Sweet Sixteen series features the films of Julia Roberts!  Mikey and Dave welcome in Friend of the Show, Wit Stillman Fan, Lover of Brie (Allison, Larsen & the cheese), Terrence Malick Apologist, Film Historian, and Nobel Prize of Medicine Nominee for his work in UTI advancement, The Estimable Twitterless Dr Earl.

And to get a female perspective, Friend of the Show Jennifer Kaufman calls in.

The challenge -- to figure out Julia Roberts' best role ever. Is it Tink from "Hook"?  Or maybe Darby from "The Pelican Brief"?  Or maybe Isabel from "Stepmom" or Vivian from "Pretty Woman"??  The Deucecast crew matches them up, picks the winners and narrows them down.

Which ultimate role will go onto the Big Bracket and join Castor Troy (Nic Cage) and Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) for a chance at the title of Greatest Movie Role Ever?

Episode 298: The Harrison Ford Sweet Sixteen

Another tourney bracket to find out what classic Harrison Ford role will join Nic Cage's "Castor Troy" in the Greatest Movie Roles Ever Bracket (coming 2019)
A four finger show, meaning no Pinky, commences with Mikey & Dave, with Wit Stillman Fan, Brie Lover (The Cheese, Larsen & Allison), Film Historian, Terrance Malick Apologist & World Famous Urologist Dr. Earl, plus Friend O'the Show Clay Shaver, host of the Remodeling Clay Podcast.

In a long awaited (by someone, surely) updated Be Kind // Rewind, Clay introduces the classic "Harry & the Hendersons" and gives the rundown about how it holds up.

And amidst a great discussion on the gone potential of Julia Ormond and the underratedness of "Working Girl" and old "Sabrina" vs new "Sabrina", Harrison Ford being crotchety, the actual Harrison Ford bracket takes shape... Jack Trainer and Indiana Jones and John Book and Bob Falfa and Dekkard and on and on.

Plus, alternate actors playing Indiana Jones & Han Solo.  Can you imagine Tom Selleck as Indy... and maybe Pacino as Solo?   OOOH AAH THE FORCE!

Of course, it all comes down to Indy vs Solo, but it's a fun ride to get there!

Episode 291: The Nic Cage Sweet Sixteen

It's a Cage Fight!  It's a Cagey Episode!  Just in the Nic of time!  Okay, okay... join Mikey, Dave & Pinky as they introduce a new series for The Deucecast Movie Show, a series called "The Sweet Sixteen".

In this series, an actor or actress with many iconic roles have those roles tossed into a bracket, and one by one, the guys whittle down the best role of them all.

First up, the man, the myth, the legend known as Nicolas Cage... 16 of his greatest performances go head to head... Castor Troy!  Benjamin Gates!  Cameron Poe!  Stanley Goodspeed!  Memphis Raines!  Ghost Rider!  And much more!  And who better to  tackle the enigma known as Cage than a man who is an enigma himself, the resident Wit Stillman Fan, the Terrence Malick apologist, the Brie Lover (cheese, Larsen, Alison), and (in)famous urologist, Dr Earl.

Moderating the action is bracket maker, the art designer and podcaster extreme, Remodeling Clay Shaver.

Also, let the guys know who you want to see in a Sweet Sixteen Bracket!!
