Episode 415: Surprise and Delights of 2019

Another 2019 in review episode commences, all leading up to the Top Ten of 2019 (coming soon!), but this time around, it's Movie Surprise and Delights of 2019.

Mikey, Dave, and Alison Brie Larsen Lover #TwitterlessDrEarl welcome in Mr Independent himself, Friend of the Show Jeremy Burgess, to talk all about a little of everything.

First up, its Word Up, where the guys fill in the blank when talking about Avatar 2, Endgame Oscars, and much more.

Then it's the list of "Surprise & Delights" of the year, a handful of movies from 2019 that started with low expectations, and to the surprise of the guys... the movie was delightful. The crew jumps into the topic at hand, movies like Escape Room (!)... Triple Frontier (!)... Marriage Story (!?)... and Cats (!!??)

It's a great way to remember the films that you may have forgotten, or chose to forget!

Episode 414: See This, Not That - The Oscar Edition

Award season is in full swing, and Mikey, Dave, and #Twitterless Dr Earl have loved seeing their favorites -- Adam Driver, ScarJo, Joaquin, Charlize, and many more -- end up with Academy Award nominations (even after some Golden Globe wins!)

And the guys decided to look at all the nominees to figure out what people should see from their body of work (Flo Pugh takes a train! Laura Dern and the dinos!  Tom Hanks lawyers up!  Pacino can't sleep!) and then... maybe what you should skip (Flo Pugh takes a train!  Joaquin is still here! Margot shouldn't focus! Brad's world goes cool!)

It's a supersized edition of the game "See This, Not That", where the Deucecast crew goes through all the Best Actor, Best Actress, Supporting, and Best Director Awards and gives their picks for a film you should see, and one you should skip.

Episode 413: The Not 2019 Top Ten

It's that season of the Deucecast Movie Show, when the series of episodes look back on the previous year... in this case, 2019. But Mikey, Dave, and #TwitterlessDrEarl not only watched dozens of films from 2019, they also watched movies from previous years as well!

First up, Birthday Movies, as a review of theatrical releases from January of 2015, 2010, 2005 and five years back and back and back.  Who knew that Blackhat was five years old? Or that My Dog Skip turns 20 years old? And the Falcon turns 35, as well as his buddy, The Snowman.

Then, the crew invites in crowd fave, Indie Autuer himself, Jeremy Burgess, for a little movie making chit-chat, some clarification about what the Best Boy actually does, and then the favorite films seen in 2019 that weren't actually from 2019.

Movies like A Star is Born, or at least some version of it... Burgess gives Soderburgh some love, while Dave goes all in on Baumbach... #TwitterlessDrEarl free's Solo... Dave murders a ball... Burgess attacks a block... and Mikey laments being ordinary people...

Episode 411: 2019's Lumps of Coal

Welcome to 2020! Hope your New Years is awesome and Dave, Mikey, and #TwitterlessDrEarl wishes you and yours the best for the upcoming year!

And to kick off the year, the Deucecast Crew wants to start looking back at some 2019 movies by getting the bad out of the way -- the Lumps of Coal of the year.  The handful of movies that aren't good bad, or bad good, but are just bad... or even bad bad.

Turkeys like Men in Black International... crap like Hellboy... junk like Surfer, Dude... and the dumpster fire that is the cursed La Larona... it doesn't get much worse.

Enjoy the worst of the worst!
