Episode 585: Comedic Actors, Dramatic Roles

After a successful summer last year, a summer of the fans, a... FanboySummer if you will, we decided if it worked once, it's gotta work again, right?  I mean, look at Zoolander Too!  And Blair Witch Project! And Thor Love & Thunder! If we struck gold once, it's bound to happen again!

Thus, FanboySummer Part Deuce!

And in our first of 9 Fanboy Summer eps, we welcome in Jonathan Hile of the Captain's Log & Lightsaber Podcast!

Up first, the return of the DbIMDb game, taking on the algorithm of what IMDb thinks is most popular.  A little catch up with Hile, discussing the podcast, and then a dive into the Top 5 topic...

Tonight, a take on actors known for their comedic chops who give incredible dramatic turns in certain roles - be it a serious legacy only to turn to comedy, then back to drama (Leslie Nielsen) or someone who had been dabbling in the drama all along, but was only really known for their comedy prowess (Robin Williams) or even someone finding their footing in Hollywood (Jennifer Aniston) and even more.

Stick around for a great little bit on Adventures by Disney because why not.

Episode 579: Our Fave Movie Coaches

Sometimes the topics come to the guys easy, especially when they fit around the guest so perfectly -- hence, we finally discuss our Top Five Fave Movie Coaches, as we bring on a returning fave and now a head coach in his own right, Clay Shaver!

Clay lets everyone know where he's been, and how he's now a high school basketball coach.

Then, some birthday movies, letting the world know exactly how old movies like Scream 2, Cop & a Half, and Soylent Green are... and of course, Ladybugs. RIP Jonathan Brandis.

A rousing game of Denzel is up next, with a surprise winner in dominating fashion.

Then, the Top Five Movie Coaches -- naturally you'd think football, or just even any sport, but leave it to dear ol' Mikey to make it weird. Plus, great discussions on this generation's "Caddyshack"... Tom Hanks being a great drunk... Gene Hackman and Jack Nicholson are old... and what might be the best bowling movie not named The Big Lebowski...

Plus Coach Shaver let's the audience know why "Lady" is not appreciated.

Episode 467: The Frat Pack Tournament

It's been a while since the Deucecast eyes were cast upon filling the Big Bracket, but Dave, Mikey, and #TwitterlessDrEarl is here to bring it back.

The Frat Pack is the legendary group of actors from the early 2000s that gave us incredible classics like Old School, Wedding Crashers, Zoolander, Dodgeball, and many more, starring names like Vince, Owen, Ben, Luke, Ferrell, Jack, Rudd, Carrell... and it's time to take four of them and match them up, knock them down, and crown a single champion -- a champion that moves onto the Big Bracket of All Time Great Movie Roles.

Vince Vaughn (Peter, Raj, Jeremy, Bradley) takes on Ben Stiller (Derek, Mr Furious, Larry, White) takes on Owen Wilson (McQueen, John, John, Burnett) takes on Luke Wilson (he was in stuff), all mixed up -- 44 roles, only one will survive.

Episode 464: 2021 Surprise and Delights

The Deucecast Movie Show strives to be an escape and the guys do their best this week to shut out the world for an hour and give you some movie chatter... and this time, it's all about being surprised, delighted, or in some cases, both.

Movies that were thought to be a little silly, or movies approached with apprehension because "Surely, this movie can't be any good?" and yet, IT WAS!

First up, some January Birthday Movies, giving you the five, ten, twenty more year anniversaries of films you've heard of... and some you haven't. Cause that The Way Back ain't got no Affleck in it.

A little round of January Movie Rotten Tomatoes, with a Christian Slater triple play, and then the top five... the films that Mikey, Dave, and #TwitterlessDrEarl watched and were happy to report were actually pretty good.

It's a fun episode, revisiting the good times in front of a screen of some sort... and the kickoff to the annual Year End Best Episodes!
