Episode 537: Non Musical Music Movies

It's Week 2 of #FanboySummer, and Dave, Mikey, and #TwitterlessDrEarl seek to improve the show by bringing on people better than all of us... and when its about music, when its about movie music, when its about movies about music but aren't musicals, what better person to bring in than Mississippi's Finest, guitar player and worship leader and podcast host and Discord Datcord fellow Matt Mink, aka, The Mink Panther.

The fellas talk about Matt and where he's from, where he's going, and why he loves music. The discussion leads to some of the group's fave music influences, including some old country like The Statlers, Jamie Johnson, and more Kentucky Headhunters than any podcast has talked about in recent memory. And, of course, the Forrester Sisters, because of course.

Then, the return of Birthday Movies, including the absolute murderer's row of films released in June 1987, then the Top Five movies about music, but are not actually musicals... films with the beloved Anna Kendrick and films with Pixar and films with a non Danielsan Ralph Macchio but not the early Britney Spears and films with Michelle Pfieffer on a piano and films with George Clooney lip syncing and a Fountains of Wayne shout out and d$ in touch with his heritage on a golf cart in Cancun and of course, Christopher Guest.

And a ton more. Stick around in the aftershow segment to hear who gets #3 on FanboySummer!

Everything Everywhere All At Once! Bullet Train) and maybe are unsure of (AmbuLAnce! Hustle! Paws of Fury!) and those to possible, maybe sort of avoid... like Mrs Harris Goes to Paris?

We bring you the latest in Marvel with Dr Strange and Thor upcoming... in dinosaurs, as Jurassic World makes its final bow... the Buzz on the latest Pixar flick... historical dramas like Mincement and Survivors... Nic Cage dealing with the weight of his unbearable talent... more Harry Potter... and so much more.

Episode 510: Christmas Movie Families

Feliz Navidad and Happy Holidays to the Deucecast Family!

It's the annual Christmas list episode, and Dave, Mikey, and #TwitterlessDrEarl keep with tradition and bring on one of our favorite past and future guests, Carnegie Hall showstopper, podcaster, mother of an undisclosed amount of offspring, and the voice the d$ has a crush on -- Jennifer Kaufman!

Kaufman checks in with her latest, this time calling from the road, as Dave dives in with birthday movies (La La Land is legit 5 years old... and Jerry Maguire is 25... what...) and then a Hallmark themed round of Faux or Shaux... which movie titles are real, and which are unreal.

Finally, the movie families that each of the crew would want to spend their holidays with... from a super time with the Parrs to the richness of the Faders to having a wonderful life at Christmas to a holiday in the upper West side to Earl's pretentiousness overall to Jennifer with a Colin/Hugh choice to happy Sirius.

It's a fantastic time, a fun hour of laughs and movie memories, and even a little magic tossed in there.

Once a year, the Halloween season ends and the Christmas season revs up, leaving that cold, boring month of November right in the middle. The Deucecast Movie Show refuses to let November go, so Mikey, d$, and #TwitterlessDrEarl takes a look at the month from last year back to 2000.

First, the November birthday movies, finding out how long ago Doctor Strange and Domestic Disturbance were released, and exactly how long ago did Time Bandits show up?

Then the guys look ahead in November, with releases coming, releases like the new claymation Robin Robin... Clifford the Big Red Dog... King Richard... and of course, Ghostbusters Afterlife

Then, a look at our favorite movies released to theaters in November -- Honest Abe and Dave's girl Amy and Pixar classics and Disney animated classics and much more!

Episode 499: The One Before

Well, here we are, one week out from the biggest episode we've had since the last big episode we had. It's the Deucecast Movie Show and before we get to 500, we have to do 499.  And in the spirit of the One Before, Dave, Mikey, and #TwitterlessDrEarl are celebrating ones before... or more specifically, movies that have a story before the story that you've already seen...

How Bumblebee met an unassuming Hailee Steinfeld and how Professor X ended up in the wheelchair and how Silent Bob met Jay and why is Indy 2 set before Indy 1? These are the questions that get answered!

Plus, a new IMDb game, this one all about the Top Four... and paying off the summer, finally, the 2021 edition of DAVESPLOSION!

Finally, all the news you need to know about the next episode, coming Friday, 8p Eastern, 5p Pacific... The Deucecast Movie Show Episode 500.

Ep 486: ReFlicktions of Fire

One thing is for certain... the longer the Deucecast guys go between ReFlicktions episodes, the longer the episode is -- and this is no different. Buckle in, kids, as Dave, Mikey, and #TwitterlessDrEarl take you on a 138 minute ride (only half as long as one of Dr Earl's movies) covering over 75 movies, several franchises, and Nic Cage's Wonderland.

Also discussing... The Peter Rabbit oeuvre... #TwitterlessDrEarl comparing Emmas... Statham stereotypes... Dave's fave J-Law... Mikey and Ron Howard... Nic Cage & Five Nights... Mikey's new Korean obsession... Letterboxd stressing out Mikey & Dave... #TwitterlessDrEarl's 3 hour shortened film...

Episode 464: 2021 Surprise and Delights

The Deucecast Movie Show strives to be an escape and the guys do their best this week to shut out the world for an hour and give you some movie chatter... and this time, it's all about being surprised, delighted, or in some cases, both.

Movies that were thought to be a little silly, or movies approached with apprehension because "Surely, this movie can't be any good?" and yet, IT WAS!

First up, some January Birthday Movies, giving you the five, ten, twenty more year anniversaries of films you've heard of... and some you haven't. Cause that The Way Back ain't got no Affleck in it.

A little round of January Movie Rotten Tomatoes, with a Christian Slater triple play, and then the top five... the films that Mikey, Dave, and #TwitterlessDrEarl watched and were happy to report were actually pretty good.

It's a fun episode, revisiting the good times in front of a screen of some sort... and the kickoff to the annual Year End Best Episodes!
