Episode 289: The Han Solo Live Show

In the final live show of the summer, The Deucecast Movie Show hosts David and Mikey dive into the upcoming Han Solo film, with Friend of the Show Hurricane Rhett.

Lots of random tangents on best and worst case scenarios for the film and it's plot, casting and miscasting and a discussion on the Star Wars saga as compared to Marvel.

All coming live from the Sci-Fi/Fantesy Fest, sponsored by Kingdom Comics, in Hoover, Alabama, recorded in front of a panel audience (with a few audience questions)

Episode 169: Building a Kingdom

In a very special episode of The Deucecast Movie Show, the guys are off for a week while Mikey interviews a good friend of the show, Stan Daniel.  Stan is the owner and proprietor of the local favorite comic shop, Kingdom Comics, and opens up a bit on the state of the comic & movie industry, on how he built a comic empire from an attempt at buying an X-Men comic, the unknown origins of his co-hort Jason, and the trials and tribulations of putting together not just a comic shop, but an awesome hang out.

This episode was recorded in May of 2014, and is played back now as a special ep... regular recording sessions were cut short when Mikey had to go do something stupid like, oh, I dunno, help his wife have a baby.  Pansy.

Hope you enjoy this departure from the usual!

Episode 146 -- The Mouse Will Be With You... Always

On a somewhat different note, we take you back to the show's appearance at The Alabama Phoenix Festival in May of 2014, where The Deucecast Movie Show co-host Dave is joined by local comic book show owner and Marvel of a man in his own right, Stan Daniel, as they spend and hour discussing Star Wars, Disney and the mash-up of the two.

Dave and Stan discuss various topics about what it means for the future of Star Wars since Disney has purchased the property... the possibility of a 5th theme park... Star Wars Weekends... dining with Darth Vader... the memories of the speederbike in Hollywood Studios... and so much more.

There are also questions to be fielded on everything from "Will Leia be a real Disney princess?" to "What does the merchandising look like?" and yes, we also dive into a Harry Potter comparison.

Plus, predictions for the future of the Disney/Star Wars partnership (since this episode was recorded six months ago, you'll hear a few misses... and several predictions that were dead on!)

Mikey and Pinky are there too, jumping in with their own conversations, questions and thoughts, and are joined by various Friend of the Show voices of Hurricane Rhett and our buddy Wookiee.

Sure, this episode isn't directly about movies, but it is a one hour geekfest on two things that the guys on the show love.

Coming next week... our annual DeuceGiving Episode, as we give you what we are thankful for in the movie world!   Download and listen to Ep 146 coming next week!
