Episode 691: The Top Ten of 1989

The summer series has crested the movie hill and is on the downslope with only a few years remaining in our top tens... but tonight is a pivotal one to Mikey & Dave - 1989 is on the docket and we have lots to talk about!

And helping us out is Friend of the Show and Almost Pulitzer Prize winning Radio Guru DJ Scotty "Father of Garrison 'Pride of Albany' Ryfun" Ryfun!

In this episode, the trio chat about Michael Douglas and the Yakuza... Patrick Swayze doing tai chi while smoking a cig... Steve Martin and all the kids... Michelle Pfeiffer on a piano... Tom Hanks in the suburbs... Dave's William Hickey voice... M'Lynn's brown football helmet... Rick Moranis in several films... why 20 minutes in crucial to The Abyss... Audrey Hepburn's last role... and of course DIPLOMATIC IMMUNITY

Episode: The Deucecast Afterlife

Inching ever closer to the monumental episode #700, Mikey, d$, and #XLessDrEarl are here to discuss not just life in the movies... but AFTERLIFE in the movies.  The coolest, scariest, most unique, or best (subjective) portrayals of the Heavenly Realm... or the Hot Basement... and maybe even some purgatory in between.

First, the Angelic Trio checks out the box office in 2024, with a round of Box Office Mojo - figuring out what films made the most money... domestically of course (because we aren't communists), and in the calendar year.

Then, a list of films featuring the Big Guy Upstairs, Ol' No Shoulders down below, a few angels, a few demons and more.  From Bill and Ted to Swayze to Albert Brooks to some Pixar Dr. Earl has never seen, it's a fun list. A blessed list, we hope. Thoughts and prayers.

Has to be blessed with Malick, right?  Right?

Finally, a quick look at the new film "Companion", and both d$ and Mikey's recommendations.

Episode 496: Actors We Miss

The Deucecast Crew, including Mikey and Dave, sans #TwitterlessDrEarl (who is spending time earning his minor is podiatry instead of being on this episode) love movies and the actors in them, and felt it was high time to pay tribute to those who have since departed this Mortal Coil... and to give the proper nod to the dead and buried, the Spawn of Scott Ryfun, that being Lil G, the pride of TyTy, joins the show for a look at the ones we miss!

First up, remembering Chadwick Boseman, as we look at one year since he left us.

Then, a rousing round of The Dead Actor Rotten Tomatoes game... which movies are fresh, which are rotten?

Then a look at the faves of the crew, as we discuss actors who have passed in recent (and not so recent) years, and the movies they featured in, from "Skin Deep" to "Moneyball" to "The Philadelphia Story" to which "The Vanishing" is awesome and which one sucks.

Plus, an update on Mikey's 365 Films in a Year pursuit.
