Episode 647: Our All Time 10 Ten Favorite Films

It's the unofficial end to the summer series, dropping a day or two before summer actually ends -- but we waited until #XLessDrEarl was back in studio!  And here he is, joining d$ and Mikey as they count down their all time 10 favorite films ever (and give 11 thru 20 later on in the show)

Mikey and d$ have a recap of the All Time Top 10 given in Eps 214 and 218 (back in March of 2016), but for #XLessDrEarl, its a brand new list that none of us had ever heard.

And after a lengthy discussion on the films of Ernest, we dive in to the all time top ten... of course there is some crossover, and a little movement from previous lists to now -- and only a smattering of pretention.  You'll hear about Harry Ford and Michael Mann. Some Tom Hanks and Audrey Hepburn.  Morgan Freeman and Play It Again Sam... films from 1942 all the way up to 2010.

Episode 641: My Favorite Summer... The Horror of Suspense

Only a few weeks left as My Favorite Summer begins to wind down... we've laughed at the comedies, we've cried at the dramas, we've sweated over the action, we've fawned over our favorite actresses and fangirled on our fave actors... now, grab your blankets and hide your eyes, its the Horror and Suspense of it all.

 In the latest genre of My Favorite Summer, d$, Mikey, and #XLessDrEarl revisit a topic first explored in July 2015 - with Pinky and Clay Shaver back then, no less... Documentaries!

Episode 633: My Favorite Summer... The Dramas

The second part of My Favorite Summer brings the drama this week -- as the Deucecast Movie Show crew gives their own list of the serious stories from the world of cinema.

Joining Mikey, d$, and #XLessDrEarl is the co-host of the Good Day 4 a Movie Podcast, Jacob Roth, aka Roth from Wyoming, as they chit-chat and then play a round of a game not played in these here parts in a while -- The Ryan Phillippe Game returns for the first time since 2022.

Then, the Top Ten Fave Dramatic Films... everyone has their own description, as some movies may be more of a dramedy than a drama... or maybe it's listed under drama for one, but will be in another category for another.

Legendary films like The Godfather make a few lists, 90s capers like True Romance is discussed, a tragedy unfolds in one film, a fort is defending in another, and movies from as far back as 1966 are covered, all the way up to last year.

Episode 632: My Favorite Summer... The Classics

 It's finally time for the summer and with it, the summer series at The Deucecast Movie Show! For the fourth... or fifth, who's counting... your fave movie podcast that you, but probably not any of your friends and definitely not most girls you know, are listening to is giving you a theme for the summer, a series of episodes intertwined with a common theme... this time, it's "My Favorite Summer". 
 
And for the summer, Dave, Mikey, and #XLessDrEarl will be giving you the top tens of their favorites across movie genres, like comedies, dramas, animation, and more, and tonight, the Classics.  And of course, to rank the classics is our fellow cinephile and film snob, the pride of Toccoa Falls, Garrison Ryfun!

Episode 622: The Irishmen... and Women!

 Top of the morning to ya, as we like to say (confession, we never say this) as The Deucecast Movie Show celebrates both St Patrick's Day as well as Cillian Murphy's recent Oscar win -- which leads to Mikey, Dave, and #XlessDrEarl all giving the Top Five Irish Performances...

First up, a return to some of the familiar games, including Rotten Tomatoes, a little Potpourri edition this time, as well as random chatter leading up to the Top Five.

The Top Five this week is a discussion about not only best Irish actors and their performances, but those of Irish decent and ties - from a fave young ingenue who everyone loves (and is the only female to win TWO Deucie awards) to a classic star from a few generations ago, and a superstar that everyone knows to some that only have a few under their belt.

And then... the quick revelation of the upcoming Summer Series. We hope it's your favorite, actually.
