Episode 674: The Justice League See This/Not That

With the new Superman footage and cast list being leaked and revealed little by little, we thought it a good time to visit and revisit The Justice League, and a little "See This / Not That".

#XLessDrEarl is on assignment in Zamunda, so we invite in a Podcast Legend, the Podfather of Geek Out Loud - the one and only Steve Glosson.

Glosson, Mikey, and d$ do a little catch up here and there, then discuss the actors and actresses from the Justice League - Henry Cavill, Willem Dafoe, Gal Gadot, Jeremy Irons, Benaffleck, and more -- all with suggestions and our takes on their movies you should see (Arrival! The Town! Dune!) and movies you should totally skip (Heart of Stone... Eragon... Argylle...)

Next, a little extra Jeremy Burgess, giving his thoughts on possible winners of the Deucie Screenplay Award.

Episode 625: Wrasslin' Movies (ft The Gloss)

FINALLY... Steve Glosson has COME BACK... to... The Deuuuuuuucecast...

Fresh off a heckuva WrestleMania 40 weekend, Mikey and Dave chat a little bit about their favorite WWE Superst... WWE Wrestlers in movies!  And the best way to do that is to bring on someone who appears on a Wrasslin show, the original Geek, Steve Glosson.

First, a mandatory discussion about WM40, which took place a day before recording, with favorite matches, what the WWE did right, the storytelling, maybe a few things we'd change and more.

Then, we dive into our Top 5 movie roles of professional wrestling superstars - both past and present - with the rule being we cannot list anyone more than once.

Getting their due are the usuals like The Rock, Cena, Bautista and more... and a few names out of left field, like Big Daddy Kool... Bam Bam Bigelow... and a former WCW Champion.

Also, random chatter on things like the Superman Death storyline in comics... Civil War in comics and movies... an upcoming documentary passion project from Steve... d$'s 200th episode coming up... and anything else we can think of!

Episode 599: The Final 9 Roles

It took over 12 years to get here, but here we are.  Dave, Mikey, and #XLessDrEarl are at the penultimate episode of an episode that feels bigger than 500.  A hundred eps bigger, as a matter of fact...

This is Episode 599.

As the Big Bracket finally takes shape, there are 27 movie roles that will vie for the title of "Most Iconic Movie Role of All Time" -- from Indiana Jones to Sally Albright to Derek Zoolander to James Bond and more... but we don't need 27. We need 36.

And to fill the final 9 roles, we've asked a podcasting legend, the one, the only Geek Out Loud's Steve Glosson to join the show and discuss.

With over 40 iconic movie roles in play, most will be eliminated outright, as round by round, more and more famous legendary names are dispensed, tossed aside like Mikey tosses aside Star Wars now...

Ethan Hunt gets a final shot... Harry Potter hopes to work some magic... Lord of the Rings has several nominees... Keanu Reeves has two up for debate... familiar names, previous losers like Carl Spackler, Freddy Krueger, and Kermit the Frog try once more.

And at the end of the episode, only 9 remain. The Final 9.

Episode 582: Ranking the MCU Last 10

It's the end of an era in the MCU, as Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 has just hit theaters - and it's the last hurrah of the Marvel Cinematic Universe group of characters that link audiences to the Infinity Saga... sure, some heroes will carry over, but it does feel like we are saying good-bye to the MCU as we know it.

But what kind of ending is it, and how does it stack up against the rest of the MCU films released since Avengers: Endgame?

That's what the Deucecast crew aims to find out -- with Mikey, Dave, and #TwitterlessDrEarl on the show, and Young Spawn of Ryfun, the Pride of Albany, GA, Lil G, but now he's a Big G, fresh off of his prom and headed to Senior Portraits, Garrison Ryfun joins the show to discuss and rank in their own top tens those very films.

Starting with Spider-Man Far From Home, then to Black Widow, where the show picks up another guest, one Steve Glosson, who comes in to present his own list.

Then the Shang-Chi, Eternals, Spider-Man No Way Home, then Doctor Strange & the Multiverse of Madness, with Thor Love & Thunder, Black Panther Wakanda Forever, then Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania, and ending with Guardians 3, it's a long discussion, but a worthwhile one.

Plus, everyone but Steve (who questions as to whether he's seen it or not) also give their own quick review on Guardians 3 (SPOILER FREE, by the way).

And stick around for the ending, which goes off the rails as usual, from who gets invited to the show, Mikey's dismissal of Scotty Ryfun's concerns, Punisher movies, TMNT movies, Cannonball Run Criterion Collections and so much more. And of course, Casey's Biggest Hits.

There is some great discussion on Avengers: Infinity War, Star Wars, and much more.

Originally the show was "Heist Movies", but soon goes off the rails.  So enjoy this fun episode full of banter, back n forth, arguments, points made, and Star Wars opinions.

Episode 323: See This, Not That - The Avengers

Springtime has sprungtime, as The Deucecast Movie Show counts down the days until Avengers Infinity War, as Mikey and Dave welcomes in Friend of the Show, Wit Stillman Fan, Lover of Brie (Allison, Larsen & the Cheese), Terrance Malick Apologist, Film Historian and Nasal Surgeon, specializing in condom removals, the estimable Twitterless Dr Earl!

Episode 287: The Greatest Year of Movies Ever

It's taken a year or so, but The Deucecast Movie Show has finally narrowed down 40 years of film into two years for the finals.  What Year of Movies will take home the trophy as Greatest Year of Movies Ever?

To decide, hosts Mikey, Pinky, and Dave invite in podcasting royalty, with Dinner for Geeks, My Star Wars Story and radio host Scott Ryfun, as well as the Geek Out Loud podcasting empire grande poobah Steve Glosson!  (Glosson finally returns after years of Mikey asking!)

First up, Birthday Movies, where we find out exactly how old movies like K-19 The Widowmaker, Honey I Blew Up the Kid, The Lost Boys and even Bebe's Kids!

Then a round of Box Office Mojo, calling out the Top 10 in both 1984 and 2015 based on top domestic box office rankings -- Beverly Hills Cop! Inside Out! Indiana Jones!  But not... 9 to 5...

And then, the finale, the championship, the big match of all movie matches, and one that you likely could guess the winner of already.

But that's why the game is played!  Including a battle between a previous battle like 1989 vs 2015, with Glosson & Ryfun going head to head.  And Mikey stirring the pot.

Episode 158: The RomCom Spectacular

We are three guys who dare to ask the tough questions... like, we know we only use 10% of our brains... but what if we only use 10% of our hearts?
It's the Valentine's Episode of The Deucecast Movie Show, as we set forth to talk about great romantic comedies... and to help us do that, we invite in the biggest ol' softy that we know, Steve Glosson making another appearance from Geek Out Loud.
Some of the randomness that is discussed before we even get to the RomCom countdown includes:
  • Defending the Prequels
  • The Love of Michael Bolton
  • Carrying a Watermelon, Dirty Dancing Style
  • Steve Glosson's background and why he's the geek he is
  • The problem with "Love means never having to say you're sorry"
  • Can you be a Christ Follower and not like Courageous?
There is also a crazy game of Rotten Tomatoes, with the chick flick theme...

And then, the romantic comedies we love the most, including The American President... 50 First Dates... Chasing Amy... You've Got Mail... and Die Hard.  Wait, Die Hard?  And True Lies?  What the...?

Plus, Pinky pays off the Valentine's Day Movie assignments... how much did he really like The Way We Were and what does he truly think about Somewhere in Time?
Find out by downloading this week's awesome episode!

Episode 157: Our Favorite Disney Characters

Another fine episode of The Deucecast Movie Show, this time with so much magic mixed in!  We'll be talking about our favorite Disney characters of all time, and to do it right, we bring in Steve and Teresa from Disney Vault Talk.

In this show, Teresa tells the world of her geek roots... someone says, "You can never have too many Ugnaughts"... Steve does a breakdown of why Bossk's ship was not actually Bossk's ship... all of us throw down on a Disney centered game of Box Office Mojo... and of course, discussions of great Hercules characters... Rhino from Bolt... whether The Rescuers or The Rescuers Down Under are better... multiple Robin Hood mentions... and... Archimedes?!

And somewhere along the way, we get sidetracked with Care Bears, Wuzzles, Popples and Colorforms with the original Smurfs, Mikey bouncing around the room in a sleeping back with his boyhood pals, Steve's Tigger stories, and the fact that Pinky has no idea toys existed before 1994.

Plus, is The Nightmare Before Christmas part of the original Disney lineup?  Find out here and why.

Next week!  Steve Glosson comes back for one more show as we open our hearts and emotions and talk about our favorite romantic comedies, plus what does Pinky think of the sappy chick flicks he was given to watch?  Find out on Episode 158 next week!
