Episode 491: Deuce Jam: A New ReFlicktions

A regularly scheduled break from the Summer Series as our monthly ReFlicktions episode rolls in...

Mikey, d$, and #TwitterlessDrEarl serve up, recount, and review another 40 films or so, many from 2021 and found streaming, but others part of completed lists (all the Ron Howard movies) or part of a franchise (F9) or even just catching up on older movies (PT 109??)

Plus, the troubles of Shia LaBeouf... The Rock in Fast Films... Netflix's problem with content... Chris Pratt's appeal... #TwitterlessDrEarl gets pretentious again... d$ loves Margot Robbie... and Mikey hates Bo Burnham

Episode 489: Top Summer Movies 2000 to 2004

The summer is half over, and the summer series is rounding the corner toward homestretch (that's a baseball metaphor for you folks out there). Mikey and Dave, again sans #TwitterlessDrEarl, take up the mantle of more summer cinema, this time the best from Memorial Day to Labor Day in 2000 to 2004, and the guys bring back Miss Independent himself Jeremy Burgess to the show.

After catching up with The Burgeler (new reality show premiered this Fall on ABC), they play a little 2000s themed Rotten Tomatoes game, with the possible first time mention of "Shark Tale" ever on the podcast (and maybe the first time since the early 2000s anyone has thought of it), then onto the Top Five.

Nic Cage and Costner both make random appearances, with Spielberg films about airports and pre-cognitions also show up. Plus, the lower of the Mission Impossibles, Jamie Foxx and his Collateral, the beginning of the super hero era, Harry Potter shows up, Nicole Kidman's classics, Jay and Silent Bob go after their MoFo movie check, and the Black Pearl.

And Dougray Scott. Or Doogray, as it may be.

Episode 488: Top Summer Movies of 1995-99

As Will Smith would tell us, it's truly summer summer summer time... and once again, it's time to sit back and unwind, especially with our list of summer films from 1995 to 1999!

And once again, the task it too big to take on with just Mikey and Dave (with #TwitterlessDrEarl still saving the lives of those beach goers, this time in the Cozumel sea), so returning to the show is the legend, the myth, the master, the Kwan, the e ching, the pride of Albany, GA, WRYFN radio Disc Jockey, Wolfman Ryfun!!

And the topic are those movies released between Memorial Day to Labor Day in each of 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, and 1999... and if you are Scotty Ryfun, you even stretch those rules a bit.

Some of the conversation includes Dennis Hopper bad guys... Gary Busey in general... Solo cups... Bowfinger... liking Attack of the Clones a lot... seeing Red Tails... Jim Carrey's dark turn... Ep I's stretching the rules... Nic Cage's holy triumvirate...
