Episode XLVIII: Podcastin in the Rain

Once again, its Wednesday night, and once again, a gathering of the minds and wits converge at The Deucecast Studios to begin another excursion into podcasting amazingness.  The results?  The Deucecast Episode XLVIII: Podcastin' in the Rain!

Our first mention of Ralph Emery's "Nashville Now", with his
sidekick, Red.  That alone should make you want to download.
The show kicks off by welcoming Hurricane Rhett to the studios, and prepared for en epic rant.  Along the way, we hit topics like Blues Traveler vs. Sister Hazel... taking our kids to Daddy's Day Out... watching The Walking Dead... Crook & Chase and the late, great Nashville Network... the dangers in crowd surfing... reviews on The Hunger Games.. .Warrior... and Julianne Moore in GameChange.

Mike's music presents more crap from the Schaeffer Eye Center Crawfish Boil... d$ digs up a great Buried Treasure from Nelly... and a great game of Reel or Unreel challenges the guys to Chuck Norris movies, as well as bad Costner movies ("which one?" you ask!).

Our Big Three serves up uncomfortable movie scenes like Piggy's death in Lord of the Flies... the birth of an insect in The Fly... bad rave scenes... bad rape scenes... and bad rolling down the hills of Naboo.

Rhett's Rants commence with stuff on Trayvon Martin, ObamaCare AND The Americans with Disabilities Act.

And can you believe we actually spend five solid minutes on what order to watch the Avengers-related movies before seeing The Avengers?   Yes, you can.

Join us next week when we welcome back fellow blogger and co-host Brooke Story, with some For the Chicks advice, more music from Schaeffer in Mike's Minute, and our Big Three topic... our Top Three Dream Jobs.  What are yours?  Let us know on Facebook, Twitter @thedeucecast and our email, info@thedeucecast.com!  That's next week on The Deucecast Ep XLIX: The Podcast Reloaded.

Episode XLVI: To Podcast A Mockingbird

The Return of The Drewscast!   Its The Deucecast Episode XLVI: To Podcast a Mockingbird, and we do it right, right from the beginning with a taste of Dr. Brown's Root Beer and Dr. Brown's Black Cherry Soda. Enough with the poopy-tasting beverages, we finally do it right!

Drew and d$ discuss their weeks at length, as does Mikey, who reveals his great fortune in winning concert tickets, including the Jack White concert recently... and the guys discuss the old shows, like the Newsboys they went to see years and years ago.  We also dig in to American Idol's controversy... Star Wars woes... upcoming films... seen films this week... Lesley Mann... the promise of "Machete Kills" and "Sin City 2"... and even more.

Mikey's music brings out some Snow Patrol, and d$'s retort includes Dishwalla and some Factor 7.  Drew opens up a great Smorg, touching on the previous topic of "What Makes Us Love Movies" by discussing some of the great (and not so great) acting performances out there, including Daniel Day-Lewis' career, Annette Bening in "The American President", Johnny Depp in the Pirate films and even more.

Our Big Three dives into some childhood memories, that being Books We Loved As Children, including classics like "The Indian & the Cupboard"... Dr. Seuss' books... Brer Rabbit stories... and... Bunnicula (!?)

And finally... our first segment of Lawyer Up with Latta, as Brad J. Latta joins us to discuss some new, controversial legistlation that our president has signed... and remarkably, it doesn't turn into a shouting match between right (d$) and wrong left (Brad).

For the 2nd time in just a few weeks... another chick has invaded our Deucecast Studios.  Her name is Brooke, and on our show, she tells her Story.

Well, thats a little overdramatic... actually, she just joins d$ and Mikey as a co-host, sharing thoughts and ideas, and the pop culture repercussions that so gladly flow week after week.

Brooke brings us the Story.  See

Mikey's love for Summer Sanders... oh, and more Demi Lovato.

Mikey brings some more scourge in form of supposed good music with Dead Fingers... Brooke shares her story, her Nazarene upbringing, and what her website-- http://whatsthestorybrooke.blogspot.com is all about... and our Big Three shares the love, with our favorite TV couples of all time... some Office... some LOST... some Dawson... some Wonder Years... and even a brief Grey's Anatomy mention for good measure.

Oh, and we actually talk about Avon vs. Mary Kay.  I wish I were kidding.
