Here comes your movie-guiding-light through tumult of bad film and greatness of good cinema... whatever that means.
Mikey, P!nky and d$ once again take the microphones, sans two turntables, to tell you about all the good and bad movies they've seen, what you should see and avoid, and to rib P!nky about his growing Jimmy Stewart obsession.
We discuss at length films like The Amazing Spider Man 2... A Million Ways to Die in the West... Neighbors... It's a Wonderful Life... and of course, X-Men: Days of Future Past...
A stirring game of Ryan Phillippe holds forth, moderated skillfully by P!nky (how many Chris Cooper movies can YOU name?) and our first edition of Pretty in Pink, where Mikey and d$ make the prediction as to how much he liked Dirty Dancing upon seeing it recently for the first time.
The guys then hold the first ever 2014 Deucecast BadA** Draft, where we decide which action characters would fill up a 10 person roster of the most awesome, kick buttedness team we could possibly put together... names like John Matrix (Commando)... Ripley (Alien)... James Bond (the Casino Royale version)... Jason Bourne... and who picks The Bear Jew from Inglorious Basterds? Find out!
A great discussion is had on the upcoming Star Wars dealings, including recent casting news and a prospective one-off film, and what the guys think it will be, then a rabbit trail discussion on how Disney and Star Wars is faring against Harry Potter at Universal Studios in Orlando.
We wrap it up with the promise of movies that will be seen over the next month and discussed, including Frozen Ground, the new epic with Cusack and Cage... Never Sleep Again, a four hour doc on Nightmare on Elm Street... and Ashley Judd's award winning story of Flypaper.
Join us next month as the discussion turns to favorite sidekicks in movies, plus a 1932 classic that Mikey has to force himself to watch.
ALSO... next weekend! THE ALABAMA PHOENIX FESTIVAL! COME SEE US!!

The Episode with Stupid Movies
Sometimes you do things, like podcast episodes, that you are so proud of, you want to yell to the Heavens and say, "Look at what we've done! Look at our splendor of Awesomesauce!"
And when The Deucecast Movie Picture Show has an episode like that, we'll make sure to let our fans know... BUT we did record an episode that we do like very much... because it is on our level.
That's right, in this episode, d$, Mikey and P!nky take on "Stupid Movies". Movies that aren't very smart, movies that perhaps wanted to be great and ended up being kinda dumb (Scream IV)... or really dumb (Airheads)... but that are loved very much in spite of, perhaps for that, very reason!
In depth discussions on really stupid films like The Adventures of Buckaroo Bonsai... Double Impact... Flash Gordon... Honey I Blew Up the Kid.. Con Air.. Snake Eyes... and yes, Batman Forever.
The Three are joined in The Deucecast Studios by new friend of the show Mackey, and returning friend of the show, Drew / Morris, while producers Tommy and Shawn also wait in the wings. And ol' pal Tom Johnson walks through the door at some point.
P!nky and d$ go through a lengthy discussion of little known parody film The Starving Games while Mikey grins in earnest... and although Kurt Russell's Breakdown was P!nky's assigned film to watch, he ends up watching another film instead... with surprising results.
The topics also hit hot button issues like, Johnny Depp's career... where Star Wars will be in 50 years... and what might it look like if JJ Abrams bombs in Episode VII... the guys play a rousing game of "Box Office Mojo" and give the latest incarnation of the Top Five of 2014.
Join us next month, as it's a kick off to summer with MANLY MOVIES... plus a whole lot more fun and the gang being testosteroney (which is the REAL San Francisco treat)
Movies discussed at length this episode:
Beauty & the Beast
Captain America: Winter Soldier
Convoy
Draft Day
End of Watch
The Grand Budapest Hotel
Lovelace
Noah
Oculus
The Starving Games
True Romance
Unbreakable

The Episode With the Awards
Its been a month since you've had the honor of hearing our voices in your earbuds, but thankfully for your sanity, we are here again!
So much to do this month, as we not only discuss ALL the Oscar nominations and make our picks for the winners (the Academy Awards are March 2nd), we also reveal ALL the winners for the First Annual Deucie Awards...
Will Her win out for Best Screenplay? Will Cate Blanchett also win the Deucie for Best Actress? And could Jaden Smith really win an award for the worst acting performance of 2013? You betcha.
We nod our head to Philip Seymour Hoffman and Sid Caesar, who we lost in the last few weeks, and then discuss the movies we've seen since the last time we met, including Philomena... Robocop, the old and new... James Gandolfini's triumphant Enough Said... and Pinky's disdain for minions in Despicable Me 2
On the annex couch, Dr Earl also joins us for the discussion, with his latest and greatest tripe he's over the moon about... Russian Ark, anyone?
Plus... a nod to... Car Talk?!
Some of the movies discussed in this episode:
Adult World
August: Osage County
Enough Said
The Iceman
In a World
Last Vegas
The LEGO Movie
Monuments Men
Philomena
Robocop (1987 & 2014)

And once again, we question why we let Dr Earl even come on this show... |

Intermission: Scarface
Its another quick hit on another classic film, as always with The Deucecast Intermission, and this time, the guys take on the Al Pacino gangster film Scarface from 1983. A mainstay in the IMDb Top 250, and considered one of the greatest modern era films of all time, Scarface is the story of Tony Montana, a Cuban immigrant who rises to power in Miami and becomes a drug overlord... before watching all of it fall apart at the hands of his own product.
Starring Michelle Pfieffer, F. Murray Abraham, Robert Loggia, a bunch of names none of us had ever heard of, and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, who later went on to be blue and naked in The Abyss and also star in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (outperforming Kevin Costner... but lets face it, the left knee of the guy who played Little John's younger sister outperformed Kevin Costner) and The Color of Money.
Listen to the episode and hear the disappointment dripping out of our voices as we all expected to... well, you know, actually like this movie...

Movies about Football Stuff
On this Episode of The Deucecast Movie Picture Show... the guys tackle movies with football themes in them. First, though, there are the list of movies they've seen in the last few weeks, including 2 Guns, The Wolverine and Blue Jasmine, plus Mikey loves Riddick...
Our "See This, Not That" game challenges the guys to find a good and a bad movie with Julia Roberts, Kevin James and more... while Pinky struggles bigtime with The Movie Game.
The main topic is Football films, like The Blind Side and The Waterboy and Any Given Sunday, plus heated debates about whether Jerry Maguire, The Last Boy Scout or Lucas are actually football films... hmm...
Join us next week on The Deucecast Intermission, as we take on the bloody mess that is Scarface, and while d$ is out for the following The Deucecast Movie Picture Show, Mikey and Pinky hold down the fort with whatever they feel like discussing!

Intermission: Sabrina

Its a tale of a girlish crush, a playboy gent and an older brother... the girl loves the gent, who is attached to someone else, and that someone else is the key to a mega business deal... and all the sorts of hilarity and heartstrings-pulledness occurs along the way.
The guys discuss the likes and dislikes of the film, along with all sorts of little trivia (like, did you know Humphrey Bogart thought Audrey Hepburn was talentless, and that co-star William Holden was kinda stupid?)
Don't forget, next week on The Deucecast Movie Picture Show, all the usual frivolity, including discussing football films... and then on the next Deucecast Intermission, we go family friendly... with Al Pacino's "Scarface"

Movies Made into TV Series
On this episode of The Deucecast Movie Picture Show... Mikey, Pinky & d$ once again join forces to fight the evils of non-movie watching, to promote the good of movie watching, and to discuss lots and lots of movies watched.
In ReFlicktions, bringing up the films seen in the last two weeks, the guys hit a number of titles, including "View From the Top
"... "Mud
"... "CLUE
"... "The Evil Dead
", the original.... "The World's End
"... "Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams
"... and a bunch of indy films that Mikey loved, like "Muscle Shoals" and "Zero Charisma".
The topic today included movies that were turned into television shows, like "Ferris Bueller"... "The Real Ghostbusters
"... a few of the 403 "Stargate
" reiterations... and d$'s love of "Muppet Babies
". Some tackled it from the angle of "good movies that were turned into good and bad shows", and we also hit the side of "eh movies turned into good tv shows", like "Buffy the Vampire Slayer
", to which Pinky had no idea that it was, in fact, a movie first.
The guys also touch on the movies that were assigned to them to see, including "Side Effects
"... "Muriel's Wedding
"... and an odd film that Pinky will put into his DVD collection from here on out.
The Ryan Phillippe Game returns, with Mikey, d$ and Pinky battling it out as to who can name the most films of a given actor, and in a new twist on "See This, Not That", names and topics are tossed out at random via the "Magic Movie Wheel".
Finally, d$ ends the show on a personal note, with a non-movie related topic, but is still good to hear...
Next go round... the guys take on "Football Themed Films" for the now-here football season... and don't forget next week's Intermission, where we discuss at length the Audrey Hepburn classic, "Sabrina"

Intermission: 12 Angry Men
For this week's Deucecast Intermission... three jolly, chunky, geeky, goofy, attractive, dorky guys take on 12 angry men... that is, "12 Angry Men
", from 1957, the movie that lost to "The Bridge On the River Kwai" for Best Picture.
The film is a limited storytelling movie with 12 men sitting around the jury room, deciding the fate of a minority defendant, on trial for the murder of his father. All seem to want to convict, though one juror demands they stay and talk it out... and thus, the story unfolds.
In a great Intermission, the guys discuss the complexities of the film, including juror by juror, likes, dislikes and a great comparison to the 1997 update with Jack Lemmon and George C. Scott.
Enjoy this Intermission, and then go watch this classic film!

The Top Five of 2013 for each of the hosts is only slightly unchanged... and in a stirring game of "Rotten Tomatoes", the guys discuss the films of the stars of TV's "Grey's Anatomy"--like "The Ugly Truth
"... "Ramona and Beezus
"... and the Oscar winning Patrick Dempsey classic "Made of Honor
"
And speaking of Grey's Anatomy... you'll definitely want to tune in to hear the long awaited return of... "GREY'S ANATOMY WATCH"!!!!

Intermission: Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
On this Intermission... the guys are joined by the wise ol' Dr Earl, and in this week's discussion is the 1964 Stanley Kubrick classic, Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.
A political satire, one that the late Roger Ebert called "the greatest political satire of the 20th century", "Dr. Strangelove" is the story of a United States General who goes rogue, sending a nuclear missile towards the Soviet Union... George C. Scott is another general who works with the president to solve the crisis... Slim Pickens is the airman piloting the plane who is about to drop the bomb... and Peter Sellers is the President, named Merkin Muffley... and Peter Sellers plays Capt. Lionel Mandrake, who is being held by the crazy general. Oh, and it also stars Peter Sellers as the title character, Dr. Strangelove, an eccentric expert with a weird hand problem brought in to advise the situation...
Enjoy the episode as we give our insights, our likes, our dislikes and more..
Join us for the next Deucecast Movie Picture Show, when the guys take on "Marvel Movies"... and the next Intermission, with The Bridge on the River Kwai.

Invaders from Mars! (and other places)
On this episode... With the release of Pacific Rim this past weekend, Pinky, d$ and Mikey take on the topic of Earth Invasion movies... and in the studizzy... Dr Earl makes his re-appearance!
What makes an Earth invasion movie? A film where aliens, perhaps otherworldy, perhaps of this worldly, plot to take over the planet either for enslaving us, or to use up our resources and move on... of course, the guys never let the thought process of rules encumber what they try to do...
So goes the discussions of Earth Invasions like ID4
...They Live
...Marvel's The Avengers
...Mars Attacks!
... and so many more... and is Super 8
an invasion film, or just a movie about an alien who just wants to go home? Find out.
We have round robin discussions on films like The Lone Ranger--and whether Johnny Depp should have even been a part of this movie or not... World War Z... Monsters University... and the aforementioned Pacific Rim...
We also play a little "Which Crap Is Better"? game, taking familiar films like "The Watch
", "Battlefield Earth
" and "Signs
" and match them up against unseen little gems like "Feeders 2: Slay Bells
" and the Oscar winning epic "Tribulation 99: Alien Anomalies Across America
"... and what was that movie called? Say what? Yes. Its a real title. Just listen.
Speaking of Oscar winning epics... Mikey gives his rundown of how much he loved Heaven's Gate
, and how Pinky cried at the majesty that is Double Jeopardy
...
